About Santa’s Old Broads
It was a hot June afternoon, unseasonably so and all the gals were gathered for the weekly event. It was known by a variety of names: The Conflab, The Chit Chat, the Munch and Gossip. No matter the name it was a great afternoon. There was pool in the basement, cards up stairs, food, beer and lots and lots of talk. On this particular day the talk centered on a subject often plowed during these sessions, men. Today the subject was the basic unreliability of the varmints. “Well, I tell ya”, said one of the women, “there is only one man you can count on, old Santa Claus. And he’s only good for once a year”.
There were hoots and hollers as the conversation continued. The ladies in the group had reason to celebrate. The previous two years they have helped over 300 disadvantaged children have a Merry Christmas through the sale of their cookbooks. The Old Broads make sure that each child they help gets a new pair of shoes, new pants, new shirts and a fun toy. Every year it seems like the need is greater. So buy some cookbooks to give to family and friends to help out the kids or we may be forced to come out with an Old Broads Calendar next year…….and no body wants that!
Lots of love from a bunch of old broads.
